“Ladies and gentlemen, start your children!”

This Saturday, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway will host its fifth annual Easter Egg Hunt from 9 a.m. to noon. Registration and our activity area will open at 9 and the hunt will begin at 11 a.m. Bring the kids early to play in our activity area! We will have bounce houses and face painting. Snow cones and cupcakes will be available for purchase from Kona Ice and The Flying Cupcake. Some of our friends from the community will be joining us as well. The Humane Society of Indianapolis, Indianapolis Indians, 500 Festival princesses and an appearance from Boomer of the Indiana Pacers will all join us in the festivities! You will also have the opportunity to hang out with CFH Racing owner Sarah Fisher and driver Luca Filippi.

New this year is a special opportunity for kids! Each age group will have a single “checkered” egg to search for. The winner who finds the checkered egg will receive a special Easter basket filled with goodies.

This year we are excited to partner with Second Helpings! Second Helpings, Inc. is a local nonprofit who accepts donated perishable and overstocked food to prepare nutritious meal s for thousands of hungry children and adults every day, and distributes them free of charge through local social service agencies in Greater Indianapolis. While the event is free to attend, we are hoping to collect 500 pounds of spice and rice and encourage all attendees to help us meet this goal by bringing a donation to the event. High-priority items are chili powder, cumin, curry powder, garlic powder, pepper, oregano, salt and white rice.

We look forward to seeing you on Saturday! For more information and to sign our waiver prior to the event, please visit: IMS.com/Easter.
