Today on The Blog, we’ll be looking ahead to this weekend’s second annual Angie’s List Grand Prix of Indianapolis. For Throwback Thursday we look back to — what else? — the 2014 inaugural event on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course.
A podium in Victory Circle? Indy cars on the road course? You better believe it – the Angie’s List Grand Prix is back!
In 2014, the Grand Prix of Indianapolis brought exciting Verizon IndyCar Series road course action to the Racing Capital of the World in a package that is fun, affordable and family-friendly. Although the race was a new twist for Indy cars the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, it proved to be a hit with race fans and the drivers.
Simon Pagenaud, who started fourth in the No. 77 Schmidt Peterson Hamilton Motorsports car, held off Ryan Hunter-Reay and Helio Castroneves for his third Verizon IndyCar Series victory.
“The Indy Grand Prix is definitely, I would say, becoming one of the most prestigious road courses we go to,” Pagenaud said. “What a way to kick off the Month of May!”
The 2015 Angie’s List Grand Prix of Indianapolis is sure to be just as action packed as the inaugural race. You won’t want to miss it!
