Looking back, I doubt anyone can put a finger on precisely when they first met. But it was exactly the way everyone tells you it should be:  fun. There was laughter, plenty of laughter and good times though, of course, the cynics swore it wouldn’t last. There were times when their antics together made them the talk of the town. There were times when new circles embraced them simply because they made more sense together than either of them ever could apart. And later this month, at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, they will appear together for the Brickyard 400.

A huge crowd at the Miller Lite stage

Of course, I am talking about racing and music.

The Brickyard 400 presented by BigMachineRecords.com will showcase multiple music artists from the Big Machine label prior to the start of the race on Sunday, July 31st. Here’s a breakdown of all the possible variations as to what this means for fans:

If… You love the IMS = you should come.

If… You love music = you should come.

If… You love NASCAR = you should come.

If… You love the IMS + You love music = you should come.

If… You love IMS + You love NASCAR = you should come.

If… You love music + You love NASCAR = you should come.

If… You love IMS + You love NASCAR + You love music = you should come

No matter which one of the above best describes you, there’s at least one good reason to make plans to be here for race day. Take a look at the full music and race day line up and grab your tickets now because if there are two things better suited for each other than music and racing, I’ve yet to meet them.

The music line up is extraordinary. Is the Indianapolis Motor Speedway to become the scene of a country Woodstock style happening? I cannot wait to see how this historic double header event will play out. I have high hopes for a game changing event for motorsports promotion.
